Lake Madison Recreation Trail

The Lake Madison Recreation Trail Master Plan lays out an exciting vision for a 15-mile loop that will connect parks, resorts, nature areas, and local businesses around Lake Madison, South Dakota. Designed to promote health, recreation, and community connection, the trail will offer safe, scenic routes for walking, biking, and exploring the outdoors. With ADA-compliant design and smooth asphalt surfacing, it will be accessible to users of all ages and abilities year-round.

From quiet nature paths to vibrant community hubs, each segment of the trail is thoughtfully planned to enhance the region’s appeal and quality of life. With strong local support and a clear roadmap for funding and maintenance, the Lake Madison trail is poised to become a cherished destination for residents and visitors alike.
